Taylor Swift's 'Never Ever' Fever Persists At No. 1 On Hot 100

Taylor Swift's "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" logs a second week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, while Owl City and Carly Rae Jepsen's collaboration "Good Time" reaches the top 10.

Swift stays at the summit, with digital sales for "Never" dropping significantly, a contrast to the song's strong airplay gains. "Never" spends a second week at No. 1 on the Digital Songs chart with 307,000 downloads sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan, a 51% slide from its debut on the list last week with sales of 623,000, an opening-week sum that marked the best for a song by a woman in SoundScan history. In its first two weeks of digital availability, "Never" has sold 930,000 downloads.

Such a drop-off in second-week digital sales is typical for titles that make monstrous first-week splashes. Even with its decline, "Never" becomes one of just five songs this year to sell more than 300,000 downloads in multiple weeks. Fun.'s "We Are Young" (featuring Janelle Monae) tallied seven such weeks; Gotye's "Somebody That I Used to Know" (featuring Kimbra), six; and, LMFAO's "Sexy and I Know It" and Maroon 5's "Payphone" (featuring Wiz Khalifa), two each.

Billboard News : Katy Perry's 'Part of Me' Debuts Atop Hot 100

Katy Perry's "Part of Me" rockets in at the Billboard Hot 100summit, while Adele, the late Whitney Houston, Nicki Minaj and Chris Brown all make notable news in the chart's top 10.

Following her appearance at the 54th Grammy Awards on Feb. 12, Perry, who performed "Part" in a medley with her former No. 1 "E.T.," engineers just the 20th No. 1 entrance in the Hot 100's 53-year history. Lady Gaga had last stormed in at the chart's top spot almost a year ago (Feb. 26, 2011) with "Born This Way," which also benefitted from Grammys exposure last year; "Born" reached retail and radio the Friday before last year's event, at which Gaga sang it.

"Part" marks the first start at the pinnacle for a single on the storied Capitol Records label. The song is Perry's seventh career Hot 100 No. 1.

Billboard News : Adele's '21' Hits 21st Week at No. 1; Sells 730,000 Post-Grammys

Adele's "21" album hits a number of major milestones this week on the Billboard 200 chart, as it basks in the glow of the British diva's multiple Grammy Award wins on Feb. 12.

The album sold 730,000 copies in the U.S. last week (ending Feb. 19) according to Nielsen SoundScan -- up a whopping 207%. It spends a 21st week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.

It is the biggest sales week for any album since Lil Wayne's "Tha Carter IV" debuted at No. 1 with 964,000 on the chart dated Sept. 17, 2011. 730,000 is also the largest week for "21," as its previous-best week came over the Christmas holiday, when it shifted 399,000.

More impressively, the last time a non-debuting album sold more than "21" did this past week was on the chart dated Jan. 5, 2008. That was when Josh Groban's "Noel" album moved 757,000 copies over the busy Christmas week of 2007.

Billboard News : Kelly Clarkson Drives 'Stronger' to Hot 100 Summit

In what an RCA Records representative terms a "perfect storm" of radio airplay, digital sales and pop culture prominence, Kelly Clarkson's "Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)" rises from No. 2 to No. 1 on this week's Billboard Hot 100 songs chart. The uptempo pop anthem becomes the original "American Idol" champion's third leader on the list.

Clarkson first reigned with her "Idol" coronation song "A Moment Like This" for two weeks in 2002. She returned to the summit with "My Life Would Suck Without You" for two weeks beginning this week in 2009.

"Stronger" soars to the Hot 100's top spot with top Airplay Gainer honors, charging 33-15 on the Radio Songs chart (58 million audience impressions, up 49%, according to Nielsen BDS).

On the Digital Songs survey, "Stronger" spends a second week at No. 1. The song sold 237,000 downloads (up 6%) in the list's tracking week, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The sum marks Clarkson's second-best sales week, outpaced only by the debut frame of "My Life" (280,000).

7. Demi Lovato

Birthdate: Aug. 20, 1992 (age 18)

Rank Last Year: 8

Why She's Hot: After launching her career with starring roles in the Disney Channel franchises "Sonny with a Chance" and "Camp Rock," Demi Lovato dropped out of her spot on the Jonas Brothers tour last fall and entered a treatment facility for an eating disorder and self-injury. Luckily, the pop singer returned from what she described as "the darkest time of my life" with a new album, "Unbroken," that featured collaborations with Missy Elliott and Timbaland, as well as a lead single, "Skyscraper," that debuted in the Top 10 of the Hot 100. After experiencing such a harrowing experience at a young age, Lovato remains extremely grateful to her fans, and said in March, "I will never forget the support you guys gave me."

14. Willow Smith

Birthdate: Oct. 31, 2000 (age 10)

Rank Last Year: 7

Why She's Hot: Plenty of youngsters have scored to 40 hits, but how many can say they ruled the charts before their 10th birthday? Willow's "Whip My Hair" was an almost overnight sensation that rose to  No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 and made the singer and actress - who made her big-screen debut alongside her famous daddy in 2007's "I Am Legend" -- a true double-threat at only age 9. The daughter of musician/actor Will Smith and actress Jada Pinkett Smith, Willow is no stranger to the limelight and has already been active in charitable pursuits alongside her budding career in entertainment. After debuting her second single "21st Century Girl" on "Oprah" earlier this year, the anticipation for her forthcoming debut album -(set to be released by Roc Nation later this year) continues to grow a year and counting after "Whip My Hair."

21. Miley Cyrus

Birthdate: November 23, 1992 (age 18)

Rank Last Year : 10

Why She's Hot: Miley's had quite the year -- some ups, some downs -- but despite lackluster sales of her third studio album and that whole Salvia snafu, Ms. Cyrus is still a teen force to be reckoned with. Miley kicked off 2011 by hosting "Saturday Night Live" and bringing her sexy new image to fans from South America to Australia on her successful Gypsy Heart Tour. Her live show earnings, as well as revenue from album sales, Disney's "Hannah Montana" franchise, and feature films such as "The Last Song," helped to bring her in at No. 18 on Forbes' Hollywood Highest Earners List in at the tail of 2010.

Billboard News : J. Cole Debuts at No. 1 on Billboard 200, Blink-182 Snags No. 2

Just one week after we saw 85-year old Tony Bennett grab his first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart with "Duets II," another artist nets his first No. 1 -- but he's a little younger.

Rapper J. Cole, 26, bows in the No. 1 slot with "Cole World: the Sideline Story," selling 218,000 copies according to Nielsen SoundScan.

It's the Roc Nation/Columbia artist's first album and marks the first time a solo act's debut effort has entered at No. 1 since May 14, 2010. That week, B.o.B started at No. 1 with "The Adventures of Bobby Ray" with 84,000. Cole's launch is the highest sales week for any act's debut chart effort since Nicki Minaj's "Pink Friday" started with 375,000 at No. 2 on Dec. 11, 2010.

Lady Gaga's "Paparazzi" video, as elaborate a plotline as it had, was just the appetizer to her cinematic climax of 2009's "Bad Romance," which won Video of the Year at the 2010 VMAs. As an android queen with an evil streak in the Francis Lawrence-directed clip, Gaga struts around a Balkan bathhouse in Alexander McQueen couture, asserting her "free bitch"-ness in the end.

A wedding, a circus, and a shit-ton of glitter and facepaint: It was a bold first look for Panic! At the Disco. Carnie infidelity led the Shane Drake-directed clip to win Video of the Year at the 2006 VMAs. Five years and personnel (and punctuation) changes later, Panic! At the Disco still have a flair for the super dramatic in their videos.

The power of the Jake Nava-directed "Single Ladies" video lies in its simplicity: Three identical dancers, clad in leotards and heels, effortlessly present some of the best choreography of the decade. The 2008 black and white clip has inspired parodies from Justin Timberlake and Joe Jonas, and elicited an infamously intense reaction from Kanye West at the 2009 VMAs, where "Single Ladies" won Video of the Year.
